A$AP Rocky teases ‘DON’T BE DUMB’ album following not guilty verdict in felony assault case

A$AP Rocky is officially back. After being found not guilty of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, the rapper wasted no time shifting focus to his music.

Following the courtroom celebration with his attorney, Joe Tacopina—whom he jokingly dubbed “A$AP Joe”—Rocky took to social media to drop a bombshell for fans: the long-awaited DON’T BE DUMB album is back on the horizon.

The Harlem rapper tweeted the album title without any additional details, instantly sending his fanbase into a frenzy. The project has been one of the most anticipated hip-hop albums of the 2020s, with Rocky first revealing the title in 2018 after his last studio release, TESTING. However, multiple delays have left fans waiting for years.

Rocky had initially planned to drop DON’T BE DUMB on August 30, 2024, before pushing it to spring 2025. However, his legal battle seemingly took precedence, putting the project on hold.

The rapper had released multiple singles in anticipation of the album, including “HIGHJACK” with Jessica Pratt and “Ruby Rosary” featuring J. Cole, but none gained significant traction.

Now, with his legal battles behind him, Rocky appears reenergized. Speaking outside the courthouse, he expressed gratitude for the verdict, stating, “Gotta thank God first… I really wanna thank the jury for making the right decision. This whole experience has been crazy for the past 4 years but I’m thankful…”

The excitement over his return has sparked intense reactions from fans, with many demanding a release date. Some celebrated his victory by urging him to drop the album immediately, while others called it the “insane rollout” they had been waiting for.

. With DON’T BE DUMB now back in the spotlight, all eyes are on Rocky to see if 2025 will finally be the year his long-delayed album hits streaming platforms.
