Hanging out with Saints great college football analyst and responsible gaming advocate Mark Ingram hanging out with us here.
Do the Chiefs get all the calls?
If you watch the games, man, it seems like when there’s 50/50 calls, they go to the Chiefs.
Alright, so what do you do about that?
How do you fix it?
You cannot leave the game up to the referees.
You have to dominate them, which is hard to do.
Because especially when they have help from the refs.
So go back to your playing days.
Like when you’re playing a team that you because you guys get players get in advance and a notice on, OK, here’s the officiating crew like and here’s what they tend to call and here’s how they tend to call it.
How does that factor in when you know that you’re going in against a team that you feel like is getting a bunch of calls?
How does that factor into your mindset going into game day?
You have to know like, OK, this ref calls holding this.
Ref cause offensive pass interference is ref cause defensive pass interference or this ref calls like whatever, you know, like you have to play the game as it’s being refed.
So if they’re tight, if they’re tight to the best, making a lot of calls, you have to make sure your technique is tight.
If they’re calling a holding, you have to keep your hands close and when they break you have to let them go.
Or if you don’t get your head around and go for the ball, you’re gonna call PI.
So you have to do business as being as business is being done and um.
It’s just tough, man.
I, I lived through a couple of bad calls, a lot of bad calls, the no call right here in the Superdome, NFC championship, so, um, I know what it’s like to be screwed by the refs.
How long does it take you to like sit there for a second.
I we’re supposed to play games.
I’m not going to for a second.
How long does it take you to get past that sort of an outcome when you don’t feel like it was from your hands that you lost?
I’m still not over it.
I’ll never be over it.
It hurts forever, especially when you come to a Super Bowl.
Hurts, man, because we ain’t playing it, you know, and obviously there was other things that that factored into that game, but that was a huge call that should have been called and it wasn’t.
But, um, you know, I’m still not over it.
I’ll never be over it because I don’t have a ring.
No, that’s it sucks.
It’s just really awkward.
OK, now we’re gonna pass about.
It’s supposed to be fun and now we’re sad.
Now we’re sad if you want a hug, OK, go ahead.
Yeah, bring it in bring it in bring it in.
It feels good, feels good.
